In a process of self-regeneration, the skin continually sheds its top layer of dead keratinized cells. This process of exfoliation can be accelerated by treating the skin with exfoliating agents. AHA’s and BHA’s are some of the agents most widely used to achieve a smoother, even toned and more youthful complexion.
Glycolic – wrinkles
Brighten AHA Vitamin C – uneven texture, tone and hyperpigmentation
Salicylic – oily, congested, acneic
Jessner – oily, acneic, sundamaged
TCA – deep wrinkles, stubborn hyperpigmentation, sun damage and acne scarring
Peels offer immediate results and can have a lasting effect if properly followed. It is mandatory that a consultation of your expectations and the required protocol for a Peel be performed before you begin a series.
Peels range in strength and what they target specifically. Maximum results are given when performed in a series of 4 to 6, every two weeks. Mild shedding of the skin and redness are normal. Sunscreen as well as a strict home regimen are mandatory before, during and after all series treatments to achieve optimum results.
